Back in the swing
Sometimes your cat reads you for filth for not painting in 6 months. I sketched out “reality” about 3 weeks ago and then carelessly left it out where she could sit (and clean her butthole) on the nice paper as much as her furry heart desired. I noticed an issue I’ve run into the last several times I painted, where there’s a grainy quality to the paint, and the paper seems particularly “thirsty.” Maybe I’m just out of practice, or maybe having a cat repeatedly “seasoning” the paper damages it a little? It could also be that many of my paint tubes are like 3 years old at this point and nearly used up. Likely time to open their replacements. And stop leaving my nice sketched comics subject to the whims of my cat!
