Palm trees

I made some new bookmarks recently, and completely forgot to photograph the whole set before giving them away to loved ones. Fortunately I still have a few on hand! Painting bookmarks was and is a great way for me to practice certain techniques over and over to get better at them, in a low-stakes way. They’re reasonably mindless and therefore relaxing. And it’s very fun to be able to surprise people with them in the mail! I like giving low-stakes art that’s intended to be useful and fun but not durable. I hope the recipients use them and leave them bent and water-stained, rather than keep them tucked away and pristine.
