Practicing when the creative juices run dry
Lately I’ve been trying to ensure I keep painting semi-regularly, even though it’s often hard to find the time. One tactic that’s been really helpful is sometimes giving myself permission to paint something fun, for practice, rather than aiming for something more ambitious or truly creative if the juices just aren’t flowing. Working through some practice landscapes from https://thiswritingdesk.com/ has been perfect! It gets me painting and trying to build my skills/techniques, even if my brain doesn’t have anything creative to offer that day. Thanks Kolbie!
